Sjálfsbjörg
The National Association of People with Physical Disabilities in Iceland (or Sjálfsbjörg) needed a new logo that better represented everyone within the association. The logo is a redesign of the old one since the old logo is well regarded and has a lot of affection towards it.
The mountain stands for strenght, the person for individuality and the shield serves as a base form as well as standing for security. I chose orange as the colour so the logo would be young and refreshing and when small the logo looks like a flame. My logo was in second place.
Bubble Tea
An illustration based on the song Bubble Tea by the artist dark cat. The colours are based on the song’s name since bubble teas are usually kind of pastel coloured. The scene itself is set by the lyrics which are about flying through space. The style is based on the feeling I felt the song was depicting, it’s cute and bubbly. The cat is a representation of the artist.
Sabon
An essay about the font Sabon put on a poster. The poster had to work both as a folded up brochure and a poster. The poster was supposed to show a trade from the font. The red and white colors as well as the slight hint of a cross on the f, are reminiscing about Jan Tschichold's time in Switzerland.
Pictograms
Pictograms made with a movie theater in mind. The style had to be consistent through out the whole design.
Unglist
A proposed poster for Unglist, Young People's Arts Festival that is a platform for young and aspiring artists.
Drawings
Hand drawn illustrations with a pen. They are based on the worldwide phenomena Inktober, when for a month you get a daily word and draw anything inspired from it. I wanted to challenge myself by making the drawing only in pen and have them be ominous or halloween related. These are some of my favourite.
Stay Lucid
A video game I made with my friend in 3 months. The game follows a teenage girl that learns how to lucid dream. We follow her story through a dream journal and through the dreams she learns how to accept her parents’ divorce and get more confident in herself. I did the character modelling, rigging, skinning and animation, both 3D and 2D. As well as all the graphic elements such as the diary, where I made a font that looks like how a teenage girl would write, the game icon, a production screen and the main menu.
I made 4 characters for a fridge magnet intended to inform parents of their child’s screen time. The characters were supposed to be relatable to children of their own age. Alongside the characters, I made 6 images for the website skjátími.is. The project has been picked up by Reykjavík city and the magnets have been distributed through out the city.
Characters
NATO
An artistic interpretation of Icelanders protest against NATO. I used photographs and newspaper articles as an inspiration.
The photograph is when the police gassed the public.
The red circles are a reoccurring symbol of the target that Iceland would be come if we joined NATO.
The statue is of Jón Sigurðsson, a leader of the Icelandic independence movement. His head had been turned backwards.
